The daffodil walk is enjoyed by thousands of visitors to Malton Hotels each spring
Rangers, field staff, apprentices and volunteers with the National Park Authority have been hard at work improving the surface of the famous Daffodil Walk in Farndale.
Farndale is internationally famed for its show of wild daffodils which normally bloom around Easter. It is believed the daffodils were first brought to Farndale by medieval monks from Rievaulx.
The Daffodil walk runs along side the River Dove, for about 1½ miles between Low Mill, where the North York Moors National Park has an information caravan during the flowering season, and High Mill a few hundred yards short of Church Houses.
Each spring, thousands of visitors to hotels in Malton walk the route to see the yellow carpet of wild daffodils that grow along the riverbanks.

Easily the best place in England to see, hear and smell seabirds! More than 200,000 birds (from April to August) make the cliffs seem alive – with adults bringing food to their nests, or young chicks making their first faltering flights.
With huge numbers to watch, beginners can easily learn the difference between gannets, guillemots, razorbills, kittiwakes and fulmars. The easily recognisable puffins (here between April and July) are always a delight. Specially-created cliff top viewpoints are wheelchair accessible with care.
